How to Resize Images for the Web
Oversized images slow pages and waste bandwidth. Resize to display size, then compress; convert formats when PNG transparency is not needed.

Recommended workflow
Resize to the maximum display width your layout needs (often 1200–1600 px for hero images).
Compress with a quality slider around 0.75–0.85 for photos. Use PNG only when you need transparency.
